Bath & Body Works: "Snowflakes & Spruce" Candle Review

This is a review of Bath & Body Works 14.5oz, 3-wick candle, "Snowflakes and Spruce." I purchased this candle from the Bath & Body Works 2015-'16 semi-annual sale. It is a winter time seasonal selection with glittering holographic packaging that is different from the typical label on BBW candles. I think the packaging is more clean and sophisticated with this look, even though I still love the playful and colorful labels they typically put out too! The solid wax is a medium green, and when it pools out it is a beautiful emerald green.

The Bath & Body Works scent description on this candle reads: “Kick off the holiday party season with an outdoorsy blend of inspired snow capped spruce, and sweetened boy a touch of creamy vanilla.”

Cold Sniff: On cold sniff you get the two scent notes equally: mostly spruce nicely rounded-out with a creamy vanilla. If you like pine scents but want something slightly out-of-the-box, this one is for you. I did not notice any other notes in this candle. Some pine smells are pine-sol ish, or very sharp and, for lack of a better word, urine-y.  This IS NOT! This is a sweet, creamy pine scent (if you can imagine such a thing).

Hot Throw: On hot throw, the candle smelled the same as on cold--no metamorphosis. It was a strong thrower, filling the whole 1st and 2nd floor of my split-level house and making it about halfway up the stairs. The scent throw was consistent throughout each burn, even until the end.

Wax Performance: wax performed great, no tunneling, sooting or wick issues.

Overall: I would recommend and repurchase this candle. I love nature scents and I love pine scents, but sometimes towards the end of the winter season--you just get sick of the typical pine, balsam, fir crap. This candle lends a creamy vanilla hand to a spruce and laces it with comfort, perfect for a snow day.
